Koha ha ha

Hi all in library land!

Last week I suffered sleep deprivation due to extreme coastal Maine humidity. The last two posts may have been a result of that (temporary insanity plea). I'm feeling better, and for the sake of preservation, I will leave those posts as is, maybe :) No more rants on politics (maybe) and things of such a nature, I am above that (not really).

I played with Koha yesterday afternoon, and found it a tad cumbersome. I have to go through my knowledge of formal subject headings, I imagine. Sometimes it takes a little time to work into the groove. Scopus is working well. My laptop kept crunching up the pages, I used a desktop at work to see how that was, and it was normal. The work PC was using Explorer instead of Mozilla. It could also be a display issue on my laptop, I'll investigate further.

Google Docs, now that was easy, and I like the interface! It's not uber refined, but it's like a box of crayons when pastels and oil just don't work. It's cute and cuddly, and might even chase the frisbee if you toss it (I'm still punchy). The best part is it's free and highly accessible. Hooray! Another victory for the common person.

Richard - your description of Google Docs cracked me up!

I was thinking of it like a preschool version of Microsoft Office - like "My First Word Docs". :-)
